Ingredients
1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 for best flavor)
1 medium Yellow Onion, finely diced
1 ½ tbsp Taco Seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
6 Soft Buns (hamburger or sandwich buns)
½ cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (or other melty cheese)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until no pink remains
Add diced yellow onion and sauté until softened (3–4 mins)
Stir in taco seasoning and cook for 1 min to release aroma
Spoon beef-onion mixture into buns
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each sandwich
Broil for 2–3 mins until cheese is bubbly and golden
Notes
Swap ground beef with 80/20 ground turkey or chicken for lighter protein
Use shallots instead of yellow onion for a milder flavor
Choose whole wheat or brioche buns for texture variation
Reduce taco seasoning if avoiding added sodium
Add tomato, lettuce, or salsa for extra toppings
