Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup halal-certified melted butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup strawberry cake mix (halal option)
1 cup chocolate chips
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup halal-certified butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (for topping)
3/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
1/2 cup halal-certified cold butter, cubed (for topping)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish
In a bowl, whisk flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs, melted butter, cocoa powder, and strawberry cake mix until smooth
Pour half the brownie batter into the prepared dish. Scatter chocolate chips on top
Bake for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
Let cool completely before assembling the topping layers
In a mixer, beat cream cheese, butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 4 tbsp milk until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies
In a bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup cubed butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over frosting
Return to oven and bake for 15-20 minutes at 325°F (160°C) until golden. Cool completely before cutting

Notes

For a halal/vegetarian-friendly version, use halal-certified butter and vanilla extract
The crumb topping can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days
Substitute strawberry cake mix with homemade strawberry puree for a fresher option
