Description

Experience the magic of a melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket, perfectly slow-cooked until fork-tender. This foolproof recipe uses a savory-sweet dry rub and a rich barbecue braising liquid to lock in moisture and flavor. Ideal for game days or cozy family dinners, this dish delivers restaurant-quality results with minimal effort. It is a soul-satisfying, hearty meal that turns simple ingredients into a centerpiece that is guaranteed to impress any crowd.

Ingredients

4 pounds beef brisket, patted dry
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1.5 cups your favorite BBQ sauce (no alcohol)
1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice mixture thoroughly over the entire surface of the beef brisket.
In a medium bowl, combine the BBQ sauce and beef broth.
Place the seasoned brisket into the slow cooker.
Pour the BBQ sauce and broth mixture over the brisket.
Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
Serve with the reserved sauce from the slow cooker.

Notes

For the best texture, slice the brisket against the grain. If you have extra time, searing the brisket in a hot pan before putting it in the slow cooker adds an extra layer of caramelized flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
