Description

This classic peach cobbler is the ultimate comfort food, featuring a golden, buttery crust with tender, caramelized, and juicy peach filling. It is incredibly easy to prepare with simple pantry staples, making it perfect for busy weeknights or special gatherings. The contrast between the warm fruit juices and the crispy, tender topping is absolutely irresistible, especially when served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

5 peaches, peeled and sliced
1.75 cups granulated sugar, divided
0.5 tsp salt, divided
6 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
0.75 cup whole milk
Ground cinnamon, to taste

Instructions

Combine peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves and juices release.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and place butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish to melt.
Whisk flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and remaining salt in a bowl.
Stir in milk until the batter is smooth.
Pour batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
Spoon peach mixture over the batter without stirring.
Dust the surface with cinnamon.
Bake for 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Notes

You can use fresh or frozen peaches for this recipe. Ensure the baking powder is fresh for the best rise. Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
