Description

A savory, pull-apart bread combining tender biscuit pieces, spicy jalapeños, and gooey cream cheese. Golden, bubbly, and irresistibly cheesy, this easy recipe is perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 finely diced jalapeño (about 1/4 cup)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Line a 10-inch cast iron skillet or baking dish with parchment paper
Mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a bowl
Add melted butter, sour cream, and heavy cream; stir until dough forms
Turn dough onto a floured surface and divide into 8-10 small cubes
In a separate bowl, combine cheddar, cream cheese, cayenne, and jalapeños
Coat each dough cube in the cheese mixture, then dust with breadcrumbs
Layer cubes in the prepared dish, spacing slightly apart
Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly
Let cool slightly before serving

Notes

Adjust jalapeño quantity for spice level
Use a non-stick dish if avoiding parchment paper
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
Freeze unbaked cubes for future use
