Description

A simple, healthy weeknight dinner that comes together in less than twenty minutes. This comforting meal balances savory lean beef with vibrant, crisp-tender broccoli in a light, sweet, and garlicky sauce. It is the perfect solution for busy evenings when you need a wholesome, home-cooked meal that your entire family will enjoy.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Olive oil
3-4 cups Broccoli florets
1 lb Lean ground beef
2-3 cloves Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup Brown sugar
2 tsp Toasted sesame oil
1/4 tsp Ground ginger
1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
8-10 cranks Black pepper
Optional Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
Add the broccoli florets to the pan and toss frequently for three to four minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
Remove the broccoli to a plate and set aside.
Add the ground beef and minced garlic to the same skillet.
Cook for five to six minutes, breaking the meat into small pieces until browned.
Drain excess fat if needed.
Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, and black pepper in a small bowl.
Pour the sauce over the beef and cook for one to two minutes until slightly thickened.
Return the broccoli to the pan and toss to coat with the beef and sauce mixture.
Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free version. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
