Description

This comforting homemade cherry cobbler is a delightful dessert that combines succulent, vibrant cherries with a buttery, golden oat crumble topping. Perfect for slow weekend gatherings or quick weeknight treats, this recipe uses simple pantry staples to create a nostalgic, bakery-style experience in your own kitchen. It fills the home with the warm, aromatic scent of cinnamon and fruit, making it a guaranteed family favorite that pairs beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

4 cups cherries (fresh or frozen, pitted)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold and diced)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine pitted cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently and pour into a buttered baking dish.
In a separate bowl, stir together flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Add the cold, diced butter to the dry mixture and rub with your fingertips until it forms coarse crumbs.
Spread the topping evenly over the cherry mixture.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the cherry juices are bubbling.
Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use frozen cherries if out of season to save time on pitting. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
