It is the ultimate crowd-pleasing dessert that is perfect for celebrations or a special treat at home. Easy to assemble with simple pantry staples, this dessert offers a perfect contrast of textures and temperatures. Highly customizable with your favorite ice cream flavors and toppings, it is a versatile make-ahead dessert that stays perfectly frozen and ready to slice for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 box fudgy brownie mix
2 large eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup cold water
1 quart ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or rocky road)
Whipped cream (optional garnish)
Chocolate syrup (optional drizzle)
Crushed nuts (optional garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Combine the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a large mixing bowl and stir until smooth.
Pour the batter into a pre-greased round cake pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the brownie layer to cool completely in the pan.
Once cooled, keep the brownie in the pan if using as a foundation, or remove it and place it back into the pan.
Let the ice cream soften at room temperature for five minutes.
Spread the softened ice cream evenly over the brownie base.
Freeze the assembly for at least 2 hours until firm before slicing.

Notes

Ensure the brownie layer is completely cool before adding ice cream to prevent premature melting. For cleaner slices, dip your knife in warm water before cutting. You can easily garnish with whipped cream, nuts, or chocolate string just before serving.
