Description
A zesty Greek marinade combining lemon, garlic, oregano, and yogurt to tenderize and flavor chicken skewers. Ready in 5 minutes, perfect for grilling or baking.
Ingredients
2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts (about 200g)
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1/2 cup plain yogurt (or halal-appropriate alternative)
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl
Mix thoroughly until the marinade evenly coats the chicken
Marinate 2–4 hours (overnight optimal)
Thread onto skewers and grill 12–15 minutes per side until golden
Alternatively roast at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes
Notes
Marinate up to 24 hours for deeper flavor
Omit skewers for flat baking on parchment paper
Use unsweetened halal/non-dairy yogurt for alternatives
Pair with pita, tzatziki, and grilled veggies for full meal
