Description

Crispy golden pickle chips with a tangy briny kick, fried to perfection in an air fryer. These guilt-free, crunchy bites are perfect for snacking or serving as an appetizer. Paired with a creamy dipping sauce, they’re a crowd-pleasing, easy-to-make treat.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
12-16 pickle slices (full-sour, bread-and-butter, or dill)
Vegetable oil spray
Dipping sauce of choice (e.g., ranch, honey mustard, or aioli)

Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
In a shallow bowl, mix flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Dip pickle slices into beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned flour mixture.
Lightly spray coated pickles with vegetable oil spray.
Place in air fryer in a single layer (no overlapping) and cook for 5 minutes.
Flip pickles and cook for 5-7 minutes more until golden and crisp.
Let rest 2-3 minutes before serving with dipping sauce.

Notes

Pat pickle slices dry with paper towels before coating for extra crispiness.
Double-coat pickles by repeating the egg and flour step for extra crunch.
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 day.
Avoid overloading air fryer baskets to maintain even cooking.
